Global Vipassana Pagoda, a Buddhist religious centre - place of worship & meditation with a capacity to seat of 8,000 devotees and Vipassana practitioners, is the world's largest stone dome that built without any supporting pillars, situated near Gorai village, next to Essel World, n estled away from the hustle and bustle of the city & situated amidst the greenery. It is a symbolic of Universal message of peace. Planning for the construction of the Global Vipassana Pagoda began in 1997, while actual building work started in 2000. It consists of three sub-domes. Its traditional Burmese design is an expression of gratitude towards the country of Myanmar for preserving the practice of Vipassana.
